Scottish personal licence
Offering the SCPLH and SCPLH refresher course through fully remote, online self study modules, classroom based or hybrid study.

The SCPLH is suitable for individuals who wish to undertake training under the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005. Individuals who complete the required training programme & assessment can apply to the Local Licensing Board and, as long as certain criteria are met, a personal licence is issued. No prior knowledge needed. Duration 1 day course

The SCPLH refresher is suitable for individuals who hold a personal licence with the Local Licensing Board and require to complete the mandatory 5 or 10 year refresher training course as prescribed under the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005.Appropriate for current Personal Licence Holders. Duration half day course

Learning & Development
​​
The Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) at Levels 3 and 4 in Learning and Development are suitable for people working in a training or learning development role, with individuals or groups of learners.
They include a wide choice of optional Units which allow candidates to develop planning, design, delivery, assessment and evaluation skills. Selected units can be completed individually as a recognised PDA or stand-alone unit.

​PDA Assess Workplace Competence using Direct & Indirect Methods (L&D9Di)Assess workplace competence using direct and indirect methods is designed for those who assess in the workplace using a wide range of methods. Assessments must be substantial, realistic and authenticated to the candidate being assessed.

PDA Internally monitor and maintain the quality of workplace assessment (L&D11)Internally monitor and maintain the quality of workplace assessment is designed for those who undertake internal quality assurance of workplace assessment.

PDA Conduct the Assessment Process SCQF level 8. This PDA is for assessors of non-workplace standards, e.g. HNs or qualifications assessed during training courses or as part of off-the-job training. The PDA provides a benchmark standard for those who assess from a wide variety of different, non workplace settings. For example, teachers or lecturers involved in the delivery of Skills for Work (SfW) courses or National Progression Awards (NPAs); training providers and Further Education (FE) centres offering Higher National (HN) qualifications and PDAs.

PDA Conduct the Internal Verification Process (GF8R 48) SCQF level 8 . This Professional Development Award (PDA) is relevant to teachers, lecturers and tutors who may have a role in quality assuring the delivery of a range of qualifications that are assessed in a non-workplace context and in ensuring consistency of assessment decisions made within their delivering centre. The PDA provides a benchmark standard for anyone who is internally verifying a qualifications, such as National Qualifications, National Progression Awards (NPAs), Higher National (HN) Units or a Customised Awards.

​The Professional Development Award (PDA) in Management at SCQF level 6 delivers the essential skills and knowledge for a range of management roles and applies them to a relevant work context. Candidates undertaking the PDA will probably be in, or aspiring to, roles with limited managerial responsibility. The Chartered Management Institute (CMI) has agreed to jointly certificate this PDA in Management at SCQF level 6

The Professional Development Award (PDA) in Leadership and Change at SCQF level 8 equips candidates to consider change in the workplace and ensure that they and their organisations are able to deal with it efficiently and effectively. This qualification is jointly certificated by SQA and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI)
Customer Service

Approved to deliver SQA Customer Service SVQ level 2 (SCQF 5) and SVQ level 3 (SCQF 6)

These qualifications allow candidates to demonstrate competence in job-related skills in their particular area of work and expertise.The SVQs cover communicating in a customer service environment and delivering customer service within best practice guidelines, while the SVQ 3 includes understanding of customer service and the rules that impact on improvements in customer service.

The award in customer service principles and Practices at SCQF level 5 develops the knowledge and skills that are essential for professional customer service. Learners can specialise in a range of sectors including hospitality, travel, tourism, retail, health and beauty, sports, and events.This is a short, 'sharp' Award and focuses on: effective communication and listening skills; creating a good impression with customers; dealing with customers' needs effectively, including customer dissatisfaction; and understanding why customer service is important to an organisation/business.

Hospitality & Professional Cookery

SVQs in Hospitality Supervision & Leadership, Hospitality Services including Cookery, Housekeeping, Reception, Food & Beverage frameworks- Duration of course is usually 9-18 months depending on the level and units chosen. Funding may be offered as part of the Modern Apprenticeship programme (eligibility criteria exists) Target audience: anyone employed in a kitchen environment.

The HNC/D qualifications can be completed through a blended learning approach and will include face to face tutorials/meetings, online and written work. Practical assessments can be completed in the workplace or in one of our designated training rooms/kitchens
Workplace Coaching

The PDA in Workplace Coaching recognises those who coach learners in relation to one or more aspects of their job role.
This award would be appropriate for, those whose main role is workplace coaching with some responsibility for evaluation of own practice.
Typical job roles that would suit this PDA include the following roles in the workplace; coach, supervisor, team leader, facilitator, mentor or assessor.
The qualification structure is made up of three mandatory units, including:
1. Reflect on, develop and maintain own skills and practice in learning and development
2. Enable individual learning through workplace coaching
3. Evaluate and improve learning and development sessions
Cookery classes and Hospitality workshops
The aim of these short programmes is to help boost confidence of new or inexperienced cooks and chefs or those wishing to develop their understanding of menu planning, food preparation & cooking further.
Workshops are designed to accommodate experience of learner and range from one off-sessions 2/3 hours duration to half day, day courses and a series of short workshops over 4-8 weeks.
