The REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene course is a full day course which introduces the learner to food hygiene principles.

Learners will develop an understanding of:

• The benefits of high standards of hygiene within the food industry, exploring what is meant by food safety

• The disadvantages and costs of poor standards of hygiene within the food industry

• The role of the employer and employee in maintaining standards

• The terms ' food poisoning', 'food borne infection' and 'food safety hazards'
